Barbara Beck is an American poet and translator who lives in Paris. She has been the Editor of the Paris-based English language journal Upstairs at Duroc since 2002. Her work / translations appear in journals such as The Los Angeles Review, Slightly West, The Café Review, ekleksographia (online) and as well as in the forthcoming issue of Aufgabe and the anthology Strangers in Paris (Tightrope Books, Toronto). She has published a book of collaborative translations done with French poet Dominique Quélen of Livingdying by Cid Corman, published as Vivremourir by L’Act Mem in 2008.
Originally from Washington State, Kate Robinson has lived in Paris since 2004. She worked for French publishers Flammarion and Hachette before a stint with the Louis Vuitton City Guides. In addition to co-editing Upstairs at Duroc, she organizes the journal’s reading series “Pause on the Landing.” She graduated from Smith College in 2004.
